This is the third work of a cycle for wind instruments in which sound as matter represents the center of the musical idea.
“In body, matter": these are the words around which the piece is defined and developed. Corporeity and matter in fact trace the path along which the saxophones, with their innumerable possibilities, explore new sound worlds: physicality is recalled in a sandy, opaque, almost tactile atmosphere, with an alternation between staticity and dynamic impulses. En corps (“in body”) has the same pronunciation as encore (“still”): sound is always physical matter, and the performer has to "handle" it in any case.
