Program notes:
In the poem "Mi alzo con le palpebre infuocate" ("I get up with my eyelids on fire") Pier Paolo Pasolini, with disarming terror, talks about the awareness of his own aging. The detailed description that he gives us in these verses shows the inevitable passage of time in the life of a human being and the realization, on a morning like many others, of the disappearance of youth attacked by the beard grown in the night and the changed physique .
The restlessness with which the poet expresses himself is taken up in the piece, whose title recalls a verse from Pasolini's aforementioned poem. The dialogue between the two trios begins with a "tense awakening", in which the sound is gradually opened up in a climax that finds its full expression in the second section, studded with explosive sound blocks.
The conclusion, finally, is nothing more than a weak aftermath of the explosive tension accumulated previously. The cello is overshadowed by a grave mutter - always in a dark atmosphere - in the name of the fear that underlies music and everyone's intimacy: that of time passing.
