The work is part of the Dante22 project by Edizioni Sconfinarte, and aims to pay homage to Canto X of Dante's Purgatory.

The Canto describes the encounter between the poet and the souls of the proud: if the latter are condemned to walk bent carrying large boulders on their backs, the sounds of the saxophones – and the dialogue between the two instruments – highlight the contrast between lightness and burden, between liberation and suffering.
